the world and the simple, friendly and smiling people of these valleys
are with their own characteristics the joy full warm-hearted and
welcoming Hunzakuts are always with a smile on their faces. Cool, hard
working and full of life people from Baltistan valley who do not leave a
single chance to pass without enjoying, these music lovers enjoy small
moments of dancing and singing on hard treks like snow lake and Baltoro.
The people of Hunza also well know for their longevity.
The landscape of these valleys is full of views and enjoying moments.
The fifteen days tour takes you to these valleys and the inhabitants
where one can experience the great hospitalities and mixing up with
locals. In most of our trips we try to create an interaction with local
people so you can enjoy the local cultures and traditions. Same has been
tried in this tour to introduce you to local cultures and traditions
DAY 01 ARRIVAL ISLAMABAD
After arriving to the capital city you will be transferred to hotel.
By afternoon, after lunch, we will start our sightseeing tour of
Islamabad Rawalpindi with a visit to the old Bazaar of Rawalpindi, the
Raja Bazaar (King Bazaar), after that we will proceed towards the
capital city of Pakistan a modern and well planed city which mostly
resembles with the ancient city of Taxila of Gandharan Civilization.
Overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 02 DRIVE TO SWAT VALLEY
Today we will start our journey by morning towards Swat Valley. On
our way we will have short break at Taxila, the heart of Gandharan
Civilization. Our drive from Islamabad to Swat is about 250 kilometers
and its takes about four and half hours to reach this heavenly place.
Arrival in Swat Valley and overnight in hotel.
DAY 03 DRIVE TO CHILAS
From Swat our next destination is Chilas Valley in Diamer District,
Chilas is the home of Nanga Parbat (8125m) and having the highest Peaks
of Pakistani Himalayas. At Besham we meet to Karakoram Highway and from
here the Rocky Mountains starts and the road is built in the carved
rocks that is why today the Karakoram Highway is known is “Eighth Wonder
of the World”. This is a living miracle of Pak-Chinese engineers. The
Karakoram Highway is not only a miraculous engineered road in the huge
rocks of but also reflects the signs of a Great Friendship between
Pakistan and China. If we make it on time we will also have the
opportunity to visit the rock carvings at Shatial. The legends say,
these have been carved by the Pilgrims, Travelers and Traders on their
way to and out of China.
DAY 04 DRIVE TO SKARDU
We start early in the morning from Chilas to Skardu, because we have a
long way to Skardu. It takes about 9-10 hours drive with the Indus River
with either side. Some times we cross left and some times it comes to
our right. Driving on Karakoram Highway is an adventure in it self and
is a lifetimes unforgettable experience. Another fantastic drama is
Nanga Parbat’s play with us “hide and seek game”, but we have a very
clear and breathtaking view at Thalaechi, here is the place where we see
the “Unique Place in the World.” What makes this place Unique is, three
world’s highest ranges Karakoram, Himalaya and Hindu Kush meet at this
place.
DAY 05 DRIVE TO KHAPLU
The gentle, irrigated slopes with terraces of wheat, maize and barley,
and the orchards of apricot, mulberry, peach, plum, pear, apples and
nuts - all add to the charm of Shigar valley surrounded by snow-topped
mountains. The town displays impressive carved wooden houses and
mosques. After lunch at town, we drive to adjoining Khaplu valley. Camp
overnight. (135km, 3 hours)
DAY 06 DRIVE TO SHIGAR
After breakfast at hotel, we will make an excursion to fertile &
green Shigar Valley known for its fruit orchards especially for
delicious apricots. Evening return to hotel.
DAY 07 DRIVE TO GILGIT
From Skardu, we drive onwards to Gilgit Valley, the administrative
town of Northern Areas. It has been used by pilgrims and traders in
ancient times on their way to Arabian Sea. At Gilgit there is an old
carving of Buddha in Kargha Nullah which is carved beautifully to pay
their faithfulness to Lord Buddha. And it also homes to the largest
Suspension bridge of Asia which connects one Bank of Hunza River to the
other making a room for one jeep to cross to enter into Danyor Valley.
DAY 08 DRIVE TO HUNZA
We drive out from Gilgit to re-enter the town from the historic route.
At Kargha to visit the rock-carved Buddha from 7th century AD. In the
ancient times the Kargha valley used to be the traveling route of the
Buddhist monks, to go to Taxila. A Stroll down the colorful Bazaars of
Gilgit. The tour will continue to the beautiful, breathtaking Hunza
Valley through a scenic route. On our way we see the old Silk Route used
by the Buddhist monks and traders. En-route a short break at Rakaposhi
(7,788m) viewpoint. Enter the Hunza valley and arrive at the capital
Karimabad.
DAY 09 EXPLORATION OF CENTRAL HUNZA
AT Karimabad, we will have short trek along the water channel of
Barbar, which is a source of watering to fields as well as house hold
use. This trek gives marvelous views of Diran Peak and Golden peak and
Rakaposhi just making them in front of you. You will have a lunch in a
traditional house in central Hunza. You will enjoy the smiles and laughs
of people of Hunza.
DAY 10 DRIVE TO DUIKER
Our next destination is a heavenly place, Duiker! Nestles at the top
of Central Hunza, Duiker is a beautiful place with marvelous views of
Hunza and Nagar Valleys. And the sun set and sunrise are the views one
can remember forever. The day will be reserved to explore the
surroundings and have pictures from Ultar glaciers and high many other
high peaks including Rakaposhi, Diran Peak, Golden Peak, and at the foot
of Ultar Peaks you feel so relaxed.
DAY 11 DRIVE TO HOPER AND TO GULMIT
After sunrise view at Duiker we proceed towards Gulmit. The initial
stages of today’s drive are arguably the most spectacular of the entire
journey. The road is high on the eastern side of the river, twisting and
turning round the barren foot of the Hisper Range. Between the villages,
Grey screen slithers down to the river and six peaks over 7,000 meters
flank the highway. Crossing the Shishkut Bridge, the view of upstream of
the serrated ridge of mountains is truly photogenic! From here to
Tashkurgan in China, the people speak Wakhi. In Gulmit you will visit to
Old Hunza Museum and Suspension bridge over Hunza River.
DAY 12 DRIVE TO KHUNJERAB PASS AND BACK TO SOST
Today’s drive will take us to Khunjerab Pass, situated at a height of
4,733 is fascinating landscape. You will enjoy a short trip up to
Khunjerab Pass on Karakoram Highway; it gives some of spectacular
sceneries for photographers. We will stay in Sust the last frontier
towards China for our night.
DAY 13 DRIVE TO GILGIT
In the morning after break fast drive towards Khunjerab Pass, we
will have pack lunch with us. At the top we will spend sometime and will
drive back to Sust, and from there we will proceed towards Gilgit on
Karakoram Highway. By evening we will be arriving in Gilgit and transfer
to hotel.
DAY 14 DRIVE TO BESHAM
From Gilgit, a 12 hours drive takes us back to the Besham, for an
overnight stay.
DAY 15 DRIVE TO ISLAMABAD
Again driving on Karakoram Highway and say good-bye to the Indus
River and reach Islamabad after hours of drive. Arrival in Islamabad for
overnight stay.
